Woodworks - Japan

It's fun to do little things that can make children happy by the use of woods.
My partner Eric is doing this hobby for a long time.
I am amazed how we can still create object or character by using small piece of wood.
It's my first time to witness this while Eric is cutting it one by one due to he will have his workshop again with the Japanese students.
I now understand how it is difficult to work for woods but who could've imagine that even d last piece is still usable.

1. U need to create and print character, stick it into d wood and make it as a pattern.. We choose butterfly, heart, star, dolphin and bat (why bat? I don't know....Just in case motif is for holloween)
2. May makina para ma cut ang image. I took video of it

3. Then, we used sand paper (LIHA in tagalog) to make these woods skinny, we need to make the surface smooth because its dangerous for children if woods are not properly skinned.
4. Then, Eric has this special Oil that is made of Olives. I will show you one time how he manage to do press this olives into oil. There's a small seed on it and its too difficult to press and create oil of it, that's why he always say "OIL is precious" only few knew about how oil can be produced.

Then, here it is!
This will be presented to d japanese students where Eric used to teach abt environment and wood crafts.
Workshop is really fun and exciting esp when it's related to kids.
it's so rare for foreigners that speak fluent Japanese while my partner does...reason why he is encouraging me a lot.
Kids will try to do d same thing by their own, cut the shape, use d paper sand then oil it.
We have plans to export some for ages 1-5 :-)
I just need to arrange it with good packing.
I like it because its educational and environmental friendly pa.

He also did these FRAMES at home... using Japanese woods. These are junk woods already but look how it can still be used for other things. Amazing!
